Call to Prayer!
Let's lift up MVCC to the Lord! Just show up a little early on Sunday morning. Anyone interested is invited to join us for prayer each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. downstairs in the International School as we lift up the children's ministry and our entire worship service to the Lord!
The Prayer Room
"My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house - that my name may be there forever and my eyes and my heart will be there perpetually." 2 Chronicles 7:15-16
Over the month of May 2007 and during our 24/1 (June 2-3, 2007), the Lord has been speaking to our congregation in different ways. He has led people to encouraging scripture passages or has inspired His people to write poems or draw pictures. He has also spoken words from His heart for this church and His body or has given people dreams and visions. Below is a sampling of some of the things that God has been speaking in our midst. Please take the time to read and pray over these words.

I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who his contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57)
Imagine yourself a tree – there are different varieties but all serve their purpose.
Each tree – young & old produce seeds in season and those seeds drop and spread to those we touch – each of our seeds unique from others’ seeds.
With help from God, community of believers, church, and prayer those seeds in the right time, will grow and become trees that produce more seeds, etc.
A skin: crunchy and thin, thinner than cellophane. Crunchy like fried leeks needs to fall off of me like a snake shedding its’ scales. When it falls, so will my judgment.
For all the beautiful single women at Midtown:
I heard God say: Rise up! Storm the citadels! Speak boldly!
And also this:
Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body & spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. (2 Corinthians 7:1) - Also accompanied by this song lyric: “This one goes to the ones I love.”
Mark 16:15
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” Oh what a compassionate friend. At the cross, my savior made me whole.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
Luke 18:7-8
And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?
You need to return to your first love – God – and He will fill your heart with His peace – one that doesn’t run dry or leave you still anxious. Why do we try to put a square peg in a round hold? Why do we try to fill the void with anything but Jesus? Liquor will lose its flavor. The high will eventually wear off. The prescription will run out. The bank account will be depleted. The power will be transferred. The lies will catch up with you. Surrender. Let it be a peaceful surrender. Do not hang on to the sins of the past – it’s what the enemy wants. Let go – and then take his hand.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
Jeremiah 31:3-5
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with a loving kindness. I will build you up again and you will be rebuilt. O Virgin Israel, again you will take up your tambourines and go out to dance with the joyful. Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; the farmers will plant them and enjoy their fruit.
Romans 15:5-6
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:9-14
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, and we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and you may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the Kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son, he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works that God requires?”
Jesus answered, “the work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Daniel 6:26
For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and He saves; he performs signs and wonders in heavens and on earth.
He comes to find love at the temple of our hearts. He comes to find awakening hearts. He comes to find awakening hearts. He comes to hear our voices that will not be silent any longer. He is captivating…no cage is needed to keep us drawing near. He desires us completely…He has no walls to keep us out.
Ezekiel 34:1-16 – He will be our shepherd, to bind our wounds, to seek us and to protect us.
Ezekiel 14:6 – Repent, turn from our idols and renounce our wicked practices.
Lord, help us to revere your name so that the sun of righteousness will rise with healings in its’ wings. Malachi – My name will be great among the nations, from the rising to the setting of the sun. May we be found worthy to carry the name of your son Jesus Christ. Lips of a priest preserve knowledge, keeps faith with the wife of one’s youth, no defraud, oppress, deprive.
Jeremiah 33:25-26
This is what the Lord says: “If I have not established my covenant with the day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth, then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.
May we be people of your everlasting covenant. Thank you for looking at us through the lamb.
